Plastickenstein is an inorganic life installation. It creates a conversation between humans and plastic materials. By mimicking human vital signs, such as breathing and bleeding, the plastic installation comes to life through human perception. By applying a post-human perspective, this project leads the audience to think about the relationship between humans, artificial products, and the environment. Furthermore, this project also speculates the future of artificial non-organism lives.

Plastickenstein is an interactive installation. It breaths at a slow rate when no human is detected in front of it. As human gets closer, the breathing rate will rise accordingly, imitating the tension between two living creatures.

The microphone is set around the average eye height. The audience may approach and interact with it once they spot the microphone.

The blood was made by color power, ink, and water. The fake blood was added to the plastic bottles at the back of the frame. Once the audience finished talking into the microphone, the water pump would pump the blood up to the top of Plastickenstein. The blood then seeped out of the sponge at the end of the tube and ran down the plastic skin to create physical disgust for the audience.
