Torsonset is a house design integrating the torso and Quonset structure. It emerges from the intersection of human/chordate animal anatomy and architectural innovation.
In Torsonset, the organs, bones, and skin of the human torso are reimagined as architectural elements, creating a harmonious synthesis of the natural and the constructed. The patchwork model also ensure the quick assembly of the house. The soft and the warmth of organs are reimagined as the inner padding of the housing which provides insulation. The chest cage, including the ribs and the spine, inspires the frame construction of Torsonset. Compare to the original Quonset, which is patched up by curved steel plates, the splicing model of Torsonset is connected by the “spine” on the top of the structure. The rain-proof layer, the skin, uses plastic wraps to cover the entire body.
